HOW SAFE IS YOUR STEAM BOILER ??

-The minerals and dissolved materials or gases existing in the feed water of the boilers causes to corrosion inside the boiler. This results as decrease in the thcikness of the materials.
-In order to operate the boiler in safe pressure range the corrosion in the boiler must be checked  
- As the boilers operate under pressure at high temperatures, metal fracture depending to SCC (stress corrosion crack), HIC (hydrogen induced crack) is highly possible to form.
-It is possible to check the situation in the boiler without harming it with Ultrasonic testing..
-To carry out these checks is critically important for your safety.
-Only hydrostatic test control is not enough to learn about the boilers structure.

Below you can see a sample calculation table prepared according to EN 12953
(Design pressure is chosen as 15% higher than operating pressure, corrosion factor as 0,75 mm and construction factor as 1 mm has been added, welding factor is 0,85)

As it can be seen clearly from the table approximately 2 mm thickness fall brings 2 bar decrease in safe operating pressure.
